So you want to be an Android Developer? That’s awesome. Android Development is quite a promising career. But the encouraging nature of this career has turned this career into a lucrative career option that is quite sought after.
Terms like Android developer course with placement and Android Development Boot camp are always being searched on the internet from every corner of the world.
But, we would like to drop the truth bomb.
Not everyone is cut out to be an Android Developer
This statement is not meant to discourage anyone who wants to be an Android Developer. Still, it does give one a thought to reflect upon the abilities oneself and determine if their decision to be an Android Developer will favor their side or not.
Why can you not be an Android Developer?
- You don’t practice enough: Android Development is hard. It is tough. There’s a reason why Android Developers are so well paid. And in this ever so dynamic world (technologically speaking), the tough part of being an Android Developer is just getting tougher & tougher.
To be an Android Developer, you have to work hard. Practice must be the thing that makes up a sizable chunk of your day. I know this sounds like clichéd advice, but, as an Android Development Boot camp, we see tens and hundreds of students daily who don’t put enough hours into practicing, and at the end of the course, they don’t remember most of the stuff that had been taught to them.
So, as an Android Development student, if you are not practicing enough, you cannot be an Android Developer.
2. You are only here for the money: Now, don’t get me wrong here. There is nothing wrong with wanting money. It is all about paying the bills and having some thrills.
But if money is your only motivator to be a Mobile App or Software developer, then we hate to break it to you. You cannot be a great developer.
Here’s why?
With money being your only motivator, you will never be as eager, keen, and focused on learning the concepts of Android development. And with that approach, you can only get so far down your learning curve. The chances are high that you will quit learning about Android Development.
Instead, if you have cultivated your interest in the field, are always curious about how things work, and have the zest to learn newer concepts, you can make your way to being a good android developer.
And once you are a good android developer, the money will follow.
To cultivate your interest in this career field. You can do multiple things:
– You can watch movies & documentaries about software development
– You can join online communities that love Android Development
– You can connect with people who are Android Developers and learn from their experience
Remember, it is all about that little spark of curiosity that needs to be lit.
But if you have tried everything and this field doesn’t interest you. Then it would be best if you did not pursue Android Development at all.
3. You underestimate yourself too much: When you are on your journey to be an Android Developer. You will come across many people who will be better than you. And naturally, you will compare yourself to them, and in no time, you will be self-doubting and underestimating yourself.
But If you underestimate yourself too much and doubt your abilities, then I’m afraid you cannot be a great Android Developer. The reason is simple; you will waste a lot of your time underestimating and doubting yourself when that precious time can be used to enhance your skillset and be a better Android Developer in the first place.
4. You don’t enjoy the process. You’re RESTLESS: The complicated nature of Android Development will test your patience. And during that time when it does. How you react to the situation will determine how good of an Android Developer you will be.
If you keep calm and enjoy solving problems, you are on the right path. However, if you are impatient and restless and trying to power your way out of the problem, I’m sorry you’re not cut out for Android Development.
As an Android Developer, you will face countless situations where you will be given complex problems that will take your days and nights and leave you tossing and turning.
In such situations, patience will be your friend. Do not be restless.
Think about it. How do you think people who already are developers deal with their situations at work?
5. You lack consistency: Consistency plays a major role in everything we do in life and Android Development is no exception.
- You have to be compatible with interview prep.
- You have to be consistent with exploring new things
- You have to be consistent with believing in yourself.
- You get the idea.
Suppose there’s one thing you need to put all your energy into. It is with being consistent.
Remember, consistency is the key driver for success. Great things only come to those who are consistent.
Now, If you have been reading this far, you must have realized whether you are cut to be an Android Developer. You have to be honest with yourself. If you find yourself stuck in any situation mentioned above and you feel that you cannot change yourself, then we suggest you give yourself time and look for a career option that you would enjoy.
But if you don’t find yourself in any of the above situations or think you can cultivate your interest in Android Development, congratulations, you are cut out for Android Development.
That was all about how you can test yourself fit to choose Android Development as your career option.
